Legal Committee
Bills and other legal and financial instruments having a bearing on business are closely examined, on a monthly basis, by CONAPRI’s Legal Committee, as part of the active role we play in offering professional and considered advice concerning legal issues in Venezuela.

Committee members include legal counsel from major domestic and international companies, government representatives and members of the best known law firms in the country. The Committee’s task is to make recommendations concerning upcoming bills and regulations that will have a bearing on investment, within the framework of a cooperation agreement signed between the National Assembly and CONAPRI on June 13, 2001.

Experts in the different areas provide up-to-date information concerning regulations that are about to be passed. This allows for a serious debate where different points of view and recommendations are discussed, with a view to achieving a smooth playing field for business.

The Chairman of the Legal Committee is Emilio Pittier, a founding partner of the Araque Reyna Sosa Viso & Pittier law firm. With his many years of experience in Venezuelan legislation –his specialty is taxes—he works together with CONAPRI’s Legal Department towards the creation of a favorable climate for investments.
